Ingredients (serves 1)


  • 1/3-1/2 cup quick oats
  • 1 tbsp ground flax seed meal*
  • 1 cup almond or soy milk


  • Sliced banana, stewed apple or pear, frozen mixed berries, natural fruit jam
  • Peanut butter, tahini, hemp seed butter, walnuts, pumpkin seeds
  • Dark chocolate, buckinis, coconut flakes, dates, chia seeds, dried fruit
  • Cacao or carob, matcha, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves


  1. In a small saucepan add oats, milk, and ground flax seed and cook over a medium heat for approximately 3 minutes or until oats have thickened slightly
  2. Top with your favorite fruit, nuts, and spices

*I always add flax seed meal to my oats for extra creaminess and for my daily intake of omega-3 fatty acids, I plan on writing a blog post about the importance of omega-3 fatty acids soon so keep an eye out!



  1. This is one of my favorite recipes for oatmeal! I almost always add a scoop of protein powder for extra substance and thickness. Love how you topped your bowl with apples, pumpkin seed, buckwheat groats, some peanut butter, and cinnamon. That’s a fantastic combination!
